woodland cairns
Maria said to just go for it on the design, so we immediately thought of what might surprise passersby (“What witchy stuff used to happen out here?”). We created three conical cairns that form an isosceles triangle that points north. We added a through stone across the top of the largest cairn, the sides of which form altars for things found on walks. Rocks, bones, feathers, etc. We’ve been told the cairns feel spooky, their origins unknown and placement mysterious, and we agree.
